According to the use case, you may choose one of the following installation methods. There are also two channels available: Stable release, and Nightly release.

Stable version will be released every month, it contains all new features completely developped, tested and available for different language.

Nightly version is released several times per week. It contains the latest features and bug fixes in preview mode. means these features may complete and available only in English.

Whatever the version used, Hummingbird introduced a news feed in the software. You will be notified when a new version is available.

The Hummingbird project is built upon .NET Framework 4.6.1. You must have .NET Framework 4.6.1 or later version installed before running the software.

The following operation systems have already .NET Framework 4.6.1 pre-installed.

  • Windows 10

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Or the newer version of Windows and Windows Server

When using following version of Windows, please make sure the .NET Framework 4.6.1 is installed. from this link.

Installation instructions

There are several ways to install Hummingbird according to your use case.

When using Hummingbird on a Desktop machine for Test and Automation by using the GUI application, the simplest way is to apply the ClickOnce version. It ensures that you are always running the latest version of software. To install with ClickOnce, Please refer to ClickOnce Installation. Please note that ClickOnce installer contains only Hummingbird app. Command Line Interface and Report Viewer is not included.

If you planned to run Hummingbird on a Server Machine, or the machines used for DevOps pipeline. You should use the Windows Installer or Zip version to ensure all components – especially Hummingbird CLI – are included.

You can install multiple versions of Hummingbird from different media, But All hummingbird instances share the same copy of Profile, History and Settings.

Enterprise users

If you are using Hummingbird in your Enterprise PC, Downloading Executable files (Installer) may be blocked by Group Polocies set by your security departement. Please make sure you are authroized to use the software. In other hand, Except Service Simulation, All other features of Hummingbird do not require Administration previlege, you can use the ZIP version and follow the instructions

The Hummingbird project is distributed under CC-BY-ND 3.0 License, You are free to copy, distribute, display and perform the work with it. For personal and commercial use.

In additional, Hummingbird Test Framework and UI framework is distributed under CC-BY 3.0 license that allows you not only use and work on it, but also to create and distribute derivative works based on it, for example: Build Extensions, Adaptations for your organization or for the clients your organization.

When distributing, representing the software, you must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license and indicate if changes were made on the original software
